Week 2: June 30-July 5
Week 3: July 7-12
ABOUT THE CAMP
The William and Mary Rowing Camp is for high school rowers and coxswains, both boys and girls.
Cost: $750
Each session begins on Sunday afternoon, and ends on Friday mid-day. Parents and family members are encouraged to come watch the end-of-camp races!
Athletes row out of the William & Mary Rowing boathouse, located at the Chickahominy Riverfront Park, on the beautiful Chickahominy River. They land-train on campus at W&M’s Student Recreation Center.
Rowers train twice a day with the William and Mary coaches and athletes. The camp’s focus is on athlete development, including
in-depth rowing technique in both sweep and sculling shells
in-depth land-training principles and practices
in-depth video analyses
presentations on rowing biomechanics and other subjects
significantly improving ergometer technique and training practices
Each athlete’s development is equally important to the coaches,
regardless of the camper’s age, size, current abilities, or potential.
In addition to the strong focus on rowing technique and conditioning, campers will be introduced to life at the College of William and Mary, the second-oldest college in the United States. Campers will be housed in William and Mary dorms (2 per room), and will eat meals in the College's dining halls.
Campers will enjoy evening entertainment, including
movie night
evening games in the Sunken Gardens
scavenger hunt in Colonial Williamsburg
beach night
pizza & ice cream party!
